Tojê-bika Dêtîkè

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè (/ˈtoʤɘ/ /ˈbika/ [cool (fashionable); casual] [folder]) is a temperate Large Town located in the Ineg̈èsho Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Tojê-bika Dêtîkè is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Tojê-bika Dêtîkè was founded by Shesîg̈ Trëgarî, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè has a yearly average temperature of 24°C (75°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 30°C (86°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 18°C (64°F). Tojê-bika Dêtîkè receives an average of 280 cm/y (110 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Tojê-bika Dêtîkè covers an area of nearly 7 km² (2 mi²), and an average elevation of 1170 m (3838 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè was founded durring the early 17th century in early winter of the year 1622, by Shesîg̈ Trëgarî. The establishment of Tojê-bika Dêtîkè was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Shesîg̈ Trëgarî struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Tojê-bika Dêtîkè as a prison colony.

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 17th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Tojê-bika Dêtîkè is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè is buildings are arranged arround a network of premissive cobblestone streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town rests behind a thick wall made from clay bricks. The wall has all of the proper fortifications and is well made. Unfortuantly the nature of clay brick leaves it quite vulnerable to siege equipment, though the thickness of the wall lends it simmilar resistnace to a thinner hardrock wall. Unfortuantly, these millitarily questionable fortifications are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

The first thing you notice about Tojê-bika Dêtîkè is the large sign at the entrance welcoming you to their humble town. Children come up to you and say hi, some asking if you’ve fought any big monsters, and others just zipping away after their hello. The adults are much the same. By the time you’ve made it a significant way into the town you’ve been invited to a tavern for a pint to drink in exchange for news of the world. You’ve also had no less than three older women give you a sweetroll and direct your attention to their still unmarried children. It would be creepy if it wasn't so sincere.

Civic Infrastructure

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Tojê-bika Dêtîkè. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Tojê-bika Dêtîkè's parks.

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Tojê-bika Dêtîkè.

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè has a Hall of Slayers, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Tojê-bika Dêtîkè's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè has an Administrative Academy which trains individuals in the administrative arts.

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Tojê-bika Dêtîkè's natural decorations nor waterways.

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used has a sleek, linear appearance with stylized, often geometric ornamentation. The primary facade of its buildings often featured a series of set backs that create a stepped outline. Low-relief decorative panels can be found at entrances, around windows, along roof edges or as string courses. It was best known for its use of smooth finish building materials such as stucco, concrete block, glazed brick or mosaic tile. Decorative details can incorporate various artistic or exotic motifs to suit the building's function or the architect's whim. Chevrons, zigzags, and other geometrical motifs are common forms of ornament.

Due to the actions of local Kami, spring is recurring in Tojê-bika Dêtîkè.

The Kech near Tojê-bika Dêtîkè are known to be quite timid.

Tojê-bika Dêtîkè's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves drinking to channel Charm energies of tier 2 via moments of science.

Economy
